คำอธิบาย / บทคัดย่อ The objective of this study is to study the development of the students’ problem solving skills as well as their learning behavior through the project learning. The out come of this research will help improve the teaching and learning method that centers a round the learners, particularly the teaching method of a course on Social Studies Seminar (071752) The target group of this study in the graduate students majoring in Social Studies Teaching in the academic year 2002. The total number of students participating in this research is 35, with 11 students from regular program and 24 from social program. The students are video into 3 group, with one group consisting of students from regular program and the other two groups consisting of students from special program. The research tools are as follows: 1) Learning Management Plan (10 plans) 2) Problem Solving Skills Development through Project Learning Evaluation Form (20 questions) 3) Presentation/Seminar Evaluations Form (20 questions) 4) Learning Behavior Observation Form (30 questions) 5) Learning Behavior Note- taking Form 6) Social Studies Seminar Evaluation Form (16 questions) The data collected are analyzed and tabulated statistically. According to the research findings, it is found that: 1. The group of students from regular program performs very well (score = “very good”) both at their final report and their presentation. Their presentation method is thoughtfully organization with a seminar and an academic corner, which both attracts the audiences or participants’ attention and helps them to easily understanding the presentation. The two groups of students from special program per form well (score = “good”) at their report and their presentation. 2. The group of students from regular program has very good (score = “good”) at all learning behavior and problem-solving, while the groups of students from special program have good (score = “good”) learning behavior and problem-solving skills. 3. The learning behavior of all students, according to the instructor’s notes, are good (score = “good”) at all learning plans and in every steps of the projects. 4. All three groups of students are satisfied with the teaching method of the course on Social Studies Seminars (score = “good”)
