The objectives of this study were: to identify, analyze, and compare philosophical and practical models of graduate study programs in Non-formal education among and to draw conclusions for Non-formal education program of Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University. Data gathering was done through in-depth interview, documentation and form Website via Internet. The findings were as follow: the philosophical ad practice models of graduate study programs in education in Non-formal education in higher education institutes are quite similar on building competencies on researching, acquiring and applying knowledge for social and organization benefits. The programs were designed in two types: Thesis and non-thesis types. Institutes that organized with Thesis type were facing 2 crises, the first one was relating to learners’ tension, while the other relating to continuously and types, as well as the institutes organized with various models of instruction did not face such kinds of problems.
Trends of models of instruction of graduate study programs during the next decade would take into account of using more advanced technology and meeting the students’ needs. There was no significant sign of terminating of Non-formal education program in International inspirations, but improving. Actually, there are some institutes currently, Non-formal education program, which should be the leader, was not in the case.
Lessons learned from this study that should be benefit to the field of Non-formal education, Faculty of education, Chiang Mai University an included with the improvement of learning climate, curriculum development, teacher’ ethics, and management
